So nothing totally fabulous or exciting has happened around here lately but I feel like my blog is getting a big neglected! (Darn that facebook!) There have been a few milestones going on lately so I figure I better record them so I don't forget about these details later (or tomorrow since that's about as long as my memory lasts these days!)
Brooklynn--had her first contact drama. Last week while I was in St. George at my cousin's for hair day, Brooklynn's teacher called me to let me know that Brooklynn's contact had gotten dry and as she was working on trying to get it back in her eye after wetting it, it got a tear. Well, if anyone has ever worn contacts, you know that a tear is unbearable! So Brooklynn's teacher made arrangements with Shelley to get Brooklynn home to take the other contact out and wear her glasses. It was so scary for her and she felt awful for ruining her contact. I'm just glad her teacher helped her out so much and that it turned out ok. I knew this situation would come up eventually and it's just good to have it over with so that Brooklynn knows that these things happen and that they are ok!
She also started Achievement Days now that she is 8 and is loving it. It is fun for her to go to the activities and hang out with the girls. I am so thankful for these church programs! I really hope it just helps her continue to build a strong testimony and love for the gospel.
Brea--For some time now we've been working on transitioning all of Brea's feedings into the day so that we could take her off of her high volume night feed. This is a big step for potty training as well as getting her on a 'normal' feeding schedule that simulates a regular child's eating schedule. This week was the final step and we are now night feed free! It's a very weird feeling. Boy am I not going to miss the kinked tubes, open ports with formula all over the bed, and the random beeps that would go off in the night. YAY! Brea seems to be tolerating the change ok although we've had to sort of lower her dose at the end of the day but for the most part she is getting 5 feeds of 220 cc's. She is also getting a little more brave with putting things in her mouth and asks for bowls of milk quite often! She just slurps the milk drops off the spoon but it's still huge for her! Ice cream is another fave and she'll lick that and love it! She always says it makes her tongue cold. :) We have been getting her to bite stuff but she won't swallow anything that breaks off. She immediately spits it out! But we're working on it. We got back up to the nutrition clinic in December so we'll see if they have any new tips for us. She is still loving school and being naked (not at the same time, thankfully!) and is constantly making us laugh with her random words and silly faces.
Bubba---now this boy is the typical cute face and naughty behavior type child! He is adorable and I could kiss his little cheeks all day but he is usually in too much trouble! He is very mischievous and rarely listens to anything I say. We have been working on potty training. I know, long overdue. He has done fairly well (with the exception of pooping on my cousin's lawn!) but I feel like he is just holding it as long as possible so that he can go in his diaper when I put one on at naptime or bedtime. I'm just excited that we are finally working on it and that hopefully next month we'll be spending less on diapers!
He is learning how to play on the computer and loves PBSkids.org. It's his fave. He calls Curious George some weird name like cussimisses George and it's too cute! He's getting so big so fast that I try to just relish every snuggle!
That's about it around here! Sort of mundane but not at the same time. Never a dull moment of the same exact thing everyday! We are just grateful for all that we have and for these crazy kids!

Fun gift ideas
I love these two sites and think they have great ideas for Christmas gifts for some little gals ya might know! Both of these businesses are ran by amazing women and I'm lucky to know them! Check them out!
Got these great bows at SnugglebugBowtique.com. These are my new faves. You can custom order any bows to match ANY outfit you might have. I love them! There are also headbands and bracelets. Such a great site!
Just found out about this site this week. A gal here in my hometown runs it. Her story is amazing and I URGE you to check it out. So touching. She hooked us up with some of the squeaky shoes and let me tell ya, they are a hit! They are adorable too! There are many great items on this site. Shop away friends--ItzyBitzy.com.

Four eyes no more!
Brooklynn has been pestering me about allowing her to get contacts. Not sure where it came from or why she decided she was ready but at her eye check-up last week we asked the eye dr. about it. He was more than willing to give it a try. He asked me if she was responsible and I had to say yes! She is such a great kid that way. She is very to the letter with directions and everything. It's nice! I'm very lucky. I never have to nag her to do her reading or homework. She usually is helping me remember what she needs for school! Anyway, they let her try some on and she loved them! She was so excited. She had to call Addy before we even got home so that she could tell her. It's been quite the adventure but once they're in she loves them. I know that she'll get the hang of putting them in soon enough. She looks so grown up now!
So random--and gross!

Found Brea standing in a pile of diaper guts. A book had torn a hole in the bum of her diaper and the yucky gel-type stuff was coming out. So nasty. She apparently thought so too! Little Miss Doesn't-like-weird-textures threw up after touching it! And let me just tell ya, that stuff didn't clean up all that easily. It's a pain! Gotta love the random parts of motherhood!

Bubba's big day
Ever since Brooklynn's birthday, Bubba has been waiting and waiting for his turn. Every day he would ask, "Is it my birthday now?" I wanted to postpone it until the weekend but I knew he was just too excited. We ended up doing it today on his real birthday. He has been so excited all day! Three is such a fun age. He knows what is coming and has had a ball all day shopping for his party and looking forward to everyone coming. He has told pretty much everyone he has seen today that he is three. He is such a great little boy and we love him lots (and he knows it and uses it to his advantage daily!) :) Happy Birthday my handsome one!

Halloween--finally!
(She wanted to be this last year and I said no. This year I gave in and she loved it! The little kids were not a fan of this get-up!
After the baptism, the kids were all anxious to get home and get their costumes on. Well, almost all the kids! My nephew Payton decided he'd just like to go naked! We got them to cooperate for a minute for a couple of pictures and then they were ready to get out the door! It's always so fun for all the cousins to be together for stuff like this. They sort of break up into groups and just all do so well together. It's so fun for all them! We took the younger kids around the loop in my neighborhood and then Brea and Bubba were done. Amber and her kids left. But Brooklynn, Isabella, and Lexus decided they needed some more so we took them to a few more houses. They were the most excited that one house gave them a dollar! It was hilarious. What a great Halloween!
